Pollution from industrialized agriculture, confined animal feeding operations, and processed food factories, has caused a decades-long public health crisis in the Lower Umatilla Basin. 

More recently the rampant ground water pollution in the region has been exasperated by the rapid growth of massive data centers.

On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with Kaleb Lay, Director of Research & Policy with Oregon Rural Action, about why the expansive growth of data centers in the Lower Umatilla Basin is greatly exacerbating toxic amounts of nitrates in the region's water supply.
