La Grande Community Garden
This Garden is sponsored by Oregon Rural Action and Eastern Oregon University, and is located between 12th and 13th Street on I Avenue, across from Candy Cane Park.A total of 51 plots
A total of 51 plots are available to the community for personal use, or for donating to local food banks. For years, we have been fortunate to receive donations from individuals and businesses for plants, services, compost, seeds, and materials.
Our members annually participate in work parties, coming together to pin down weed-blocking tarps, remove debris from garden plots, and create flower boxes for beautification of the Garden. Recently, we created some lovely signage to help direct us around the Garden more efficiently.
